Dad's birthday

Mom and Dad returned from their trip October 19th. The 20th was Dad's birthday so we had a party.

Chick-Fil-a Pet Rock

A couple of weeks ago Chick-fil-a held an event where you could make a pet rock.

Drawing, Writing, and the River Walk

David has really taken up drawing. This is a picture he drew.



Here he is drawing a picture of him and his friend Samantha.

The other day we went on the "River Walk." Here is a barge on the Ohio River.

The walk is about a mile or so and the trial is not a circle so you have to walk back the way you came. David wanted to be carried back.

CMoE

The other day I had to go to the bank and they had coupon books for sale for charity for a dollar so I bought one. It had a free children's ticket to the CMoE (Children's Museum of Evansville). Arlene has been wanting to take David there and so we decided to finally go. I checked the museum's home page and Saturday, Oct 2nd was its fourth birthday so they were going to have special events and cookies. Well that settled the matter. So we went early Saturday morning and had the place practically to ourselves.

A high school girl volunteer had a table set up where the kids could paint pictures using highly concentrated koolaid. Thus, the paint smelled nice.

The drum was hooked up so that when you put your hands on the handle, each time your heart beat, the drum would strike.

They had a camera set up so you could make your own stop-motion movie. This is a video of the one we made.

The staff and volunteers were very kind so we will ahve to go again.

Patton Museum

A few weeks ago, Mom, Dad, Arlene, David and I went to Fort Knox to see the Patton Museum. They are shipping the tanks off to make another museum and we wanted to see it before that happened. When I was a little boy my dad and grandpa brought me there and so we wanted to bring David there as well.

The contribution of Filipina troops to the Allied cause in World War One has been sadly overlooked by most historians.

This reminds me of when I used to re-enact World War One.
