Job Hunt Update

Bad news: I am out of the running for the job search at the university I interviewed with at the AHA.

Good news: I will have a campus interview next week with a different university. It's a one year position. It looks like a good place to start my academic career, so I hope I can get it.

A Busy Week

This has been a very busy week. On Monday, Arlene, David, and I went out to Subway for Saint Valentine's day lunch and then down to the river for a walk. We stopped by the library where it turned out they were having reading and craft time so we stuck around for that. After we got home I checked email and found out that another university (I'm still waiting to hear back from the first university) wanted to interview me on Friday. After I responded with an affirmative Arlene and I went to the Doughnut Bank for Saint Valentine's day. On Thursday the 17th we celebrated Arlene's birthday by going out to the Chinese buffett for lunch with the whole family and then she and I had dinner. On the 18th I had my phone interview. It went well and I enjoyed meeting the faculty. They said they probably won't make a decision about the next round until late March. Please keep my job hunt in your prayers.

Arlene usually drives the van but it had a problem that had to be fixed so on Tuesday I took her and David to kindermusik. Here David is taking a "picture" (they had a clicker that they used to simulate the sound of a photo being taken).
David with his teacher Julie. He's holding the bridge he made for class that day (they all had to make something like that). He loves the song "London Bridge" and is always drawing bridges. As can be seen from this picture, he really enjoys his time at Kindermusik.

After going out to lunch on Arlene's birthday, Arlene and I took David to the Newburgh playground. Here he is playing with his friend and her grandfather.

I still haven't heard whether or not I will have a campus visit, but I do have some good news, I have fixed my defense date at April 8, 2011, at 12:30pm. Please keep the prayers coming!
