Trip to Atlanta

Last Friday Arlene, David, and I piled into the car and drove down to Atlanta to visit our friends Scott and Juliet and see the new edition to their family, baby Bryce.
Arlene, baby Bryce, David, and Juliet's mom. Bryce is seven weeks old.
Scott and Juliet took us to the Mall of Georiga. Here they are in front of the gigantic Christmas tree with Bryce.

I thought this was a really sweet picture.
Bryce's expression says it all!
Bryce engaged in one of his two favorite activities: sleeping (the other one being eating--we have a lot in common!)
He does not like to be changed!

It was a lot of fun but I'm a bit tired from the drive. It's about seven hours if nothing goes wrong, but traffic around Atlanta is pretty bad. David was a good traveler but unfortunately got sick on the way back. Fortunately we had extra clothes and didn't have any problems after that.

Halloween and More

Audobon state park had a Halloween party so we decided to go. It was a lot of fun but a lot more people came then we expected.

I love these cutout things.

Nothing says Halloween like drinking tea at a Chinese restaurant.

Teapot song!

On Halloween itself we took David out around the neighborhood for about half an hour. He also helped hand out candy. It was a lot of fun. We had 49 trick-or-treaters come. They started coming at 4pm, which seemed a bit early to me, and stopped at 7:45 pm, which also seemed a bit early. The funniest thing was a couple of kids came (they were maybe 8-10 years old) and I opened the door for them and they just started at me! I guess they were shy or something, so I just waited until they finally said "Trick-or-treat" and then said "That's what I was waiting for!" whereupon I gave them their candy.
