AAR Conference in San Antonio and Honors Party

I was invited to comment on two chapters of a new book on Korean religions, one of which was written by my phd adviser Dr. Don Baker, as part of a roundtable at the American Academy of Religion in San Antonio, Texas on Sunday, November 20.

Another view of the reception, you can see me in the back.

I returned home late Monday night and then taught class on Tuesday. Since it was the day before Thanksgiving I threw a little party for the students (Japanese soda and some inexpensive snacks). Eiko, a senior citizen from Japan who sometimes audits my classes came and helped out (you can see her on the left). These pictures are all of my honors students (the class is on Popular Culture in East Asia).

Fun at Ninety Six

Last Friday, before I traveled to San Antonio for a conference I took the boys and Jeong-cheol, Kyong-a, and Yaerin to Ninety Six

Happy Birthday John

John celebrated his Fifth Birthday on Halloween. We started early though on October 30.

 Psy-duck. The best pokemon ever.
On Halloween our friendship family students came over. Here they are playing pokemon with the boys.

One of our psychology professors, dressed as a member of Kiss, hands out candy.
David and John ran into his friend from school who is one of a set of identical twins. They happened to be wearing the same costumes as David and John.
 Time to eat!
