AAR Conference in San Antonio and Honors Party

I was invited to comment on two chapters of a new book on Korean religions, one of which was written by my phd adviser Dr. Don Baker, as part of a roundtable at the American Academy of Religion in San Antonio, Texas on Sunday, November 20.

I went to Mass at this beautiful church in St. Joseph Downtown

Another view of the reception, you can see me in the back.

I returned home late Monday night and then taught class on Tuesday. Since it was the day before Thanksgiving I threw a little party for the students (Japanese soda and some inexpensive snacks). Eiko, a senior citizen from Japan who sometimes audits my classes came and helped out (you can see her on the left). These pictures are all of my honors students (the class is on Popular Culture in East Asia).
