Thanks everyone for your prayers. I had the second round of the interview on Wednesday. I felt like I gave a strong interview and I really enjoyed talking to the faculty members. However, they are interviewing ten people, so there's still a lot of competition. They'll choose three for a campus visit. I should know by early February if I'm one of the lucky ones. Other then that, things are going well.
The other piece of good news is that I was able to hand in my dissertation. Once the department gets the approval memo over to the Graduate School they will send it to the external examiner. Basicailly, it looks like I will defend in April, and if there aren't any problems with my dissertation, receive my Phd then as well.
It was funny, today I gave a talk on Church History to people in an inquiry class. I told them about some good books and suggested that they get them on library loan, explaining that I did that a lot. Suddenly, a woman in the audience said "So you're the one!" She worked at the library and wondered who it was that was requesting so many odd history books. Now she knows what I was doing with them. Without meaning too, I'm a source of entertainment wherever I go:)

hooray! for the interview, but ALSO for the end in sight! i love the inter-library loan story. i'm always afraid people will notice all the books i've gotten that way - funny that you met someone who knows your borrowing habits face to face!
