London Trip, June 5

We went to visit our friend Dr. Roger Richardson in Winchester.

Dr. Richardson kindly made us cottage pie and apple crumble. All delicious. He used apples from his garden.

The boys in front of a medieval wall

In front of medieval wall made of flint
An old clock, with a walkway to maintain it. This was the old town hall.
Butter Cross, so named because people used to put butter on the steps they were selling to keep it tool
King Alfred--hurray!
Still functioning mill

Bishop's residence
Ruins of medieval castle

Place where Jane Austen died
Very poignant marker in smallest church in England

George visited for tea--he loved carrots

We attended evening prayers at Winchester Cathedral
